Chaka kuru manga molosyam (Jackfruit seed with raw mango curry)
During summer vacations in Kerala grandma used to prepare this recipe as
side dish . As the there would be many members at home one curry wont be enough
so she used to prepare it. Chakka kur means seeds of ripe jack fruits. Its
always fun to deseed the huge ripe jackfruits which are grown at home almost every
alternate day after lunch around 3.30pm
with all ladies and kids at home.
And kids gulping it as they are desseding it… During that time seeds are kept
separately after then they are stored
after washing and drying it nicely. Its used to prepare variety of
dishes.
Ingredients:
Toor dal - 1/4 th cup
Chakka Kurru – few cut in half
Mango in small pieces – ½ kg
Drumstick – 2no
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Red chilli powder – ¾ teaspoon
Curry leaves – few
Coconut oil – 1 teaspoon
Green chilli – 1 or 2
Salt – to taste
Method:
Pressure cook dal Cut seeds and drumsticks cook it in enough water once done add mangoes adjust mangoes as per how
sour it is with turmeric and red chili
powder and cook it in water once it start boilinge add green chilly slitted. Add
salt cook it. Once done switch off add coconut oil and curry leafs. Close the
lid. It goes best with plain steamed rice.
