Potato Molosyam Recipe



In kerala normally rice is eaten for lunch and dinner . I remember my mom telling me when some days if my grandma feels morning curries wont be enough for night she used to prepare this as her instant
recipe . It tastes yummy and goes well with steamed rice

Ingredients:

  • Toor dal – 1/4th cup
  • Potato in small pieces – 2 or 3 no’s
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – ¾ teaspoon
  • Curry leaves – few                           
  • Coconut oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilli – 1 or 2

Method:
Pressure cook dal and potato nicely with  turmeric and red chili powder Once cooked open the lid and let  it start boiling add green chilly slitted. Add salt cook it. Once done switch off add coconut oil and curry leafs. Close the lid. It goes best with plain steamed rice.
Note: Potato can be replaced by any vegetables like drum sticks, white pumpkin, and mango. Any combination goes well.
