Mulaga Varutha Pulli ( Tangy and spicy tamarind )

Mulakku varutha puli is a sour and tangy rasam like curry.
This dish is prepared mostly by Nair families in Palakkad.  It is the dish I tasted after my marriage. My mother in law used to prepare it and it hardly takes time to cook it.   My mom used to prepare a version of it which was prepared using horse gram. It used to taste yummy with sour tangy salty spicy and sweet dish. But It wasn't liked by many but I and my Mom used to love it. This tastes yum with hot steamed rice and kerala papadam. This recipe can also be categorized as one pot cooking.
