Ellu unda (Til che ladoo)
Til laddu is a delightfully rich dessert with earthy sesame seeds and buttery rich jaggery. This quick recipe uses grated jiggery and easy steps to achieve the authentic flavours of Maharashtra “Tila che ladoo”.This ladoo is made differently in Kerala with sugar syrup which is time consuming process
In Maharashtra, where I grew up, Til
Laddu or Til Gul is made to share with family and friends for days leading with the Makar Sankrant Day. I have grown up eating these ladoo
which our neighbour Shejole aunty taught mom. Neighbours are our extended
family where everything is shared especially in suburbs of Mumbai
This is a very easy recipe with very
few ingredients.
Ingredients
White (Sesame seeds) Til 1 cup
Roasted peanuts de skinned 1/2cup
Jaggery grated 1 1/2 cup
Ghee 1tbsp
Method
Dry Roast sesame seeds in low
flame for around 5 mins. Grate the jiggery. Grind the roasted ingredients along
with jiggery. Add Ghee and again grind it and then roll in to ladoo.
