Mysore Pak

Mysore pak recipe is a super delicious and a popular sweet from Mysore. It is made with just three main ingredients – besan, ghee and sugar. Pak means sugar syrup. Amma always loved preparing sweets. I have always witnessed that when she was preparing Mysore pak   she never liked anyone to disturb her in between as there is chance of spoiling it. So she used to prepare when noone @ home. I have also noticed that she used to add dalda and ghee mixture for hard texture. Here I am using ghee

Ingredients

Besan 1 cup

Sugar 1 cup

Ghee 1 cup

Water ¼ cup

Method

Keep plate or tray ready greased with ghee on it where you are going to set Mysore Pak. Seive besan and keep aside.  In a sauce pan keep ghee to melt and keep it in low flame. In another Kadai add sugar with water and let it boil it till we get one string. Once done add little by little besan and mix well. Meanwhile don’t stop stiring now add hot ghee little by little you will see pores in besan mixture till mixture becomes like a ball. Switch off the flame and immediately transfer to plate.  By this time your hands might start paining it might take around 30mins. But that pain is worth. Once its little warm cut it in to square pieces. Once fully cooled it will hard to cut it.
